Project Overview
In 2019, the Canadian Coast Guard was assessing 3D modelling tools that could accept and work with 3D scans being produced for planning CCG refits and VLE programs. AMS was provided with 3D scans of the CCGS Terry Fox Fwd Bubbler Compartment to assess the performance of software to work with the scan and facilitate planning activities.
Delivery
AMS registered the scans using Autodesk Revit and imported them into Ship Constructor. A 3D model of the bubbler compartment and the piping contained within was created and then used to created piping spools and piping system arrangement isometrics. AMS provided analysis reporting to the CCG, outlining software performance of the modelling tool for the identified CCG use cases.
