Job Description

We are recruiting for a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist in Ottawa, ON and/or St. John’s, NL. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, develop and execute software test and integration plans ensuring compliance with project/client requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering and design, manufacturing, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure product/deliverable quality.
  • Liaise with external engineering contractors, vendors, and customers to define QA requirements and deliverables for projects.
  • Initiate, review, analyze and report on software/product quality-related data/metrics
  • Review product documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and completeness
  • Support a variety of QA tasks, activities and events which may include closure of corrective actions and non-conformances, review and approval of technical documentation and performance of internal audits

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent technical diploma or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and/or work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 + years of experience working in QA software test role or similar software development lifecycle (including requirements analysis, design, code, integration and test)
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, processes and best practices
  • Familiarity with performance, security, and accessibility access
  • Eligibility for enrollment into Controlled Goods Program
  • Eligible for Canadian Security Status (Secret Level).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Information Management standards and best practices (ISO 15926, CFIHOS, ISO 10303, etc.)
  • Knowledge of utilization of GIT change promotion and approval methodologies.
  • Knowledge of XML/XSLT languages.
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding industry – design, build or operational project phases.
  • Familiarity with AVEVA Asset Information Management (AIM) application.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment or independently to support project completion.
  • Thorough understanding of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Decision making skills and problem solving considered an asset.
